On December 3rd the Niagara County Legislature renewed Empower Niagara low cost power agreements to two outstanding companies.

Delfingen US – New York, Inc., located in the Wheatfield Business Park has more than doubled its workforce, since the company’s initial application into the program; with additional hiring planned for next year.  Delfingen US – New York, Inc. has also demonstrated its commitment to Niagara County through its recent investment in over $500,000 in manufacturing processes and related equipment.  The company is anticipating additional investment in 2020.

Vishay Thin Film, LLC also received a renewed agreement for low cost power through the Empower Niagara Program earlier this month.  Located in the Town of Wheatfield, Vishay Thin Film, LLC continues to maintain a steady rate of growth in its workforce and anticipates that growth to continue into 2020.  Through an aggressive capital investment plan, the company has invested over $1.9 million in new equipment and processes in the last three years; bringing its total capital investment since the initial low cost power agreement to nearly $5 million.

Both of these companies have demonstrated their commitment to Niagara County and to providing good paying jobs to the community.  They exemplify the intent of the Empower Niagara Program, whereby companies that have invested in their facilities, created and / or retained jobs in our community and anticipate adding new electrical demand, may be eligible for low-cost power benefits through the program.
