Would you, or someone you know, like to learn how to grow and sell vegetables, flowers, and herbs for profit? Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County will again offer the Beginning Farmer Training Program, and hands-on certificate program for aspiring and beginning farmers and homesteaders in WNY.

Held on Tuesday evenings from May 21st - October 8th at the Niagara County Fairgrounds, this season-long program will teach the business of profitable market farming and give experience in taking a crop from seed to sale. Market farming is the intense, small-scale production of high value crops. Participants will get a unique and comprehensive education by growing produce in CCE's Field Lab and from experienced farmers and industry experts in the classroom.

Over the course of five months, participants will develop production and management skills including field production, crop planning, marketing, and farm business management. Every module is designed to give participants the confidence and know-how to take their farm business idea to the next level.

The deadline to apply for the program is Friday, May 10th. Class size is limited so be sure to sign up now. For more information and to apply for the 2024 Beginning Farmer Training Program, visit the CCE Niagara website at www.cceniagaracounty.org or by clicking here.
